From a young age, Bronwyn exhibited remarkable athletic talent, excelling as a Division IA track and field athlete specializing in the 800 Meters, 1500 Meters, and heptathlon. She graduated from East Brunswick High School in 1980, where she also competed in track and field events, including the 400 Meters, 100 Meter Hurdles, Long Jump, and High Jump. She initially attended Springfield College in Massachusetts, drawn by its reputable athletics and physical education programs, and later transferred to Western Michigan due to its strong Division 1A program. In 1984, she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Health, followed by a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology in 1986. Her thesis, titled “A Biomechanical Analysis of Running Variances Due to Physiological Fatigue Among Elite Runners,” contributed valuable insights to the field of sports science.
Career
Bronwyn began her professional career in athletics as a Track and Field Head Coach, showcasing her leadership at Allegheny College, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Ball State University. Her transition from athletics to law saw her graduating with a law degree in 2003 from an unnamed institution, where she specialized in advocacy. She began her law career as a Florida State Assistant State Attorney, focusing primarily on prosecuting domestic violence cases.

Her leadership as the Chief Administrator for the SunCoast Region’s Children’s Legal Services and later as the Statewide Deputy Director for CLS significantly impacted child welfare in Florida. She was promoted to Regional Managing Director for the Southern Region, where she managed a substantial budget and led a large team, driving significant improvements in child welfare services and outcomes.
